Hello.  I have a problem with the driver's side front door electric window on a UK spec Ford Galaxy 2.3L petrol Ghia X.  The motor refuses to wind the window up.  I have replaced the motor with a new one but now it will not move up or down.  Any clues anyone?  A wiring diagram would be a great help.

Thanks

Graham

could it be the fuse in the fuse panel?  Probably like a 20 amp fuse?

Hi Graham,

I have 2ltr. petrol and have worked on (still working) the electrics. Bought it second hand and it had been stolen/vandalised. First, plug you new motor into the left side door without fitting and see if it works. 2. the 38 pin door plug is a Basxxxxxtrd to get back and you may have a bad connection. 3. the door switch has a very small curved rocker plate which can overheat and go flat which leaves it in "no mans land" . 4. My local VW dealer brings up the section I'm interested in on screen and just prints it for me. The switch is considered a sealed unit and therfore no internal details are available from dealer but they are easy to open. Hope this is of use to you.

cpgoose & the bogman

Thanks for the advice.  All up and running again now.  Was an earth wire that had broken due to fatigue where it goes from the door to the A pillar.  Guess I shouldn't use the door so much!

Thanks again
