2001 Dodge Ram keyless entry problem

I have been trying to install a BOA 265B keyless entry/remote start system for my 2001 Dodge Ram. I have the remote start working fine, but I am having to luck with the keyless entry. I do not know if my truck came with keyless entry or not. I bought it used and it didn't come with any kind of remote when I bought it. It has switches that open and close the locks. I called the tech support for this product and they told me to hook it up via the "5 wire alternating" method. I traced the power unlocks coming from the switch and I am tapping off of them on the other side of the connector where they come through the side of the truck (left side of drivers feet area). I am using the ORANGE / purple for power lock and the pink/purple for power unlock. I cut each wire and tested them individually. I have the +12V expected from each when I push the switch to the lock/unlock position on the side of the wire that goes back to the switch and +12V on the other side of the wire when I push the switch to the opposite side (i.e. pushing unlock and testing the other side of the lock wire). I hooked them up via the manual: WHITE/ black to switch lock, BROWN / black to switch unlock, GREEN/ black to other side of switch lock and blue/black to other side of switch unlock. I also hooked up the two violet wires to +12V (the same for the remote start wire). Now here's the problem...it doesn't work. I can hear the relays clicking, but the locks don't move and the driver's switch doesn't work either. Strange thing, the passenger unlock works, but that's it. When I unhook everything, and reconnect the original wires back together, the switches and locks work fine. Any ideas? I have no idea what is up. I have checked my connections several times. Is there a different method to hook these up if my truck did or did not come with factory keyless entry? Thanks Scott Heartley

Keyless entry module is to the right of the steering column with 2 green plugs in it. If you don't see anything like that under the dash then you likely do have reverse polarity locks. Check the fuse on the power wire going to the door lock relays. Also it is possible you have the switch side and motor side switched but that always blows the fuse so you would probably know if that was the case.J Rilla

Thanks for the info. I'll check for the module. I don't remember seeing it though. I did try swapping the wires earlier today, but that didn't do anything either (including blowing any fuses). I'm about ready to give up on this thing. Thanks Scott

No module, so I guess mine didn't come with factory keyless.  Is there a way that I can test the "brain" of the unit to see if it is working properly?  I think that the relay I hear clicking might be the one for the parking lights and not necessarily for the door locks.  I hear the relay click twice which is what the parking lights are supposed to do.

Ended up being a bad central unit.  Once I returned it and put the new one, it worked like a charm.  Thanks for all the help.
