diode isolate and disarm defeat

what does it mean when u say "tap wires and diode isolate them"??????

velocity motorsports gave me a wiring diagram for a 2002 cavalier z24

and on the the list  it says disarm defeat--(tan wire), what does this mean?

Diode isolate mean you have to put a diode between two wires.  See the "Sensors" section of the "Car Security" section to see more on diodes.

the disarm defeat wire is used to disarm a factory alarm system.  If you have a factory alarm installed already,  you may have to use this wire.  if your car doesn't have a factory alarm , or a factory passive alarm, then you don't need to worry about it.  since your car is newer, it probably has at least a passive alarm , which just stops the car from starting without the proper key/chip.  this is bypassed differently with every car.  your wiring diagram may give you notes on this.

The disarm defeat wire is only used when installing a "keyless upgrade" alarm----it's an alarm that works off the car's factory keyless entry system----the shop I work for does these for car dealers all the time, but they're not usually sold at retail stores.  So unless you're doing one of those, pay no attention to "lock motor," "unlock motor," and "disarm defeat."

As far as the diodes---I assume you've read all of the diode information on this site, right?  Your car has two separate door trigger wires----and your alarm probably only has one door trigger input----the diagrams on this site clearly explain how to use the diodes to attach the car's two wires into the alarm's one wire.
