Hi. The system that I'm looking to install should be right around 1000 watts rms. So I figured that I needed a 1 farad cap. I was wondering if there are any advantages over having two .5 farad caps vs. one 1 farad cap?

Hey.  Of course 2 would be better than one, but depending on your charging system, I'd put a single 5-15 farad cap in.

Oh.. didnt notice that you said 2 .5 f as opposed to a 1 f.  I't wouldnt make a difference if the were rated at the same specs...

if the specs we're the same the 2 point 5 and the 1 farad would be the same.  unless they had digital volt meter's attached then the 2 point 5's would put out less power then a 1 farad cap with a volt meter
