I am doing a remote start in a ford contour with a Viper 571. The remote start activates but the starter does not crank. The shutdown diagnostic points to transmitter shutdown. The hoodpin and nuetral safty switch are fine and the brake wire has not even been hooked up yet. The customer will be here in 2 hours if any body has an idea.

If the Contour is a 1998 + Then what bypass module did you use for the PATS system ?

Did you cehck to see if the car starts witht he key in the ignition ? Did you also check to see if the car stays running after you palce it in ready mode/stop & go mode ? If the car stays running, then it's not a wiring issue, rather a PATS bypass issue.
