I have a Toyota 2002 SR5 sport edition. it does not have a factory alarm, but it does have a factory keyless entry remote, which also has a button to roll down the rear tailgate window (but doesnt roll it up. however, install guys told me that the factory module is able to have this feature on the remote, but toyota doesnt hook it up for safety purposes)

my question is this; I just bought a Viper 791XVR alarm with built in remote start. And, on my new alarm i want the auxilary button to be able to roll down the back window the same as the factory remote does. does anybody know which "wire" i have to tap into (if any) to activate whatever module the factory remote communicates with to roll down the window? otherwise, i would have to get an aftermarket module by viper that will be able to time the voltage long enough to roll down the window, but i want to avoid this seeing as how there is already apparently one installed by the factory.

(just to avoid confusion, im not asking which wire actually goes to the rear window motor, im wondering how to use the same "electronic timer" module thing that the factory remote uses to send a pulse to the rear window module so that a 1 second pulse from an auxilary output on my aftermarket remote will activate the entire rear window process, which is probly about 4 or 5 seconds)

hope im making sense? haha -

thanks in advance guys!

oh yea, BTW

I installed for 4 years back in the late 90's, and have a very good tech knowledge. ive done many viper alarm installs (in the hundreds) and remote starts. i have complete knowledge of relays and diodes as well. however, ive been out of the loop since 2001. so feel free to use tech terms with me.

and, i will be installing the alarm myself.

i belive if you change that output on the alarm to validity, you can connect the red w/ white to unlock wire (key cilinder) and it will roll down the windows

Are you referring to how the Toyota Sequoia truck is able to have a key inserted into the drivers side cylinder and turned and held in the lock or unlock position for a few seconds, and then all the windows go up or down? Cause the 2002 4runners do not do that. however, the rear window will work with the rear latch cylinder. but how do i get the extended pulse to the wire to get the window all the way down, or up?

i am not familiar with "changing the output to 'validity'" what is validity?

thanks for the help!

yes,   if you tap the unlock wire comming out of the rear cylinder (wich ever one will roll down the rear window) connect the red w/ white wire to it    validity means it will send a negative charge on the wire when you push the button for as long as you hold it down   when you let go the negative pulse will stop in order to change the out put from pulsed to validity, you must get in the programming menu and change it (i dont remember off hand how to   the install guide will tell you)

one other question (since you seem very knowledgable Viper Alarm, Window Roll Up/Down, 2002 Toyota SR5 - Last Post -- posted image.). on the factory remote, it has a button that rolls down the back door window, and you dont have to hold the button down. just press it once and the window goes all the way down.

is there a way i can use whatever module the factory remote uses for the "one touch" so that i do not have to hold down the auxilary button on my remote? there must be a window roll down module from the factory located SOMEWHERE in the truck. any knowledge on this ccroadshop? (or anybody else?)

thanks again fellas

you can set to be a timed output insted of validity  if you have a bitwriter you can set it for odd icriments if not the menu has preset times
