2000 Grand Am Passlock is locked out

I have had problems with the passlock ever since I bought the car a year ago ..finally its locked competely up on me.. I  called the dealer they want 500 to fix it .. I simply dont have it .. I heard of the bypass ..bought it . .now I hear  that it wont work because of the computer? I really just want to disable it .. I need my car asap .. anyone have any input?

You may have other issue, but you can take a look here to see if any of this will help.

it depends on if there is a problem with the ignition part of the passlock system or a problem in the computer.....and no....there is no way to disable it.....if there is a problem with only the ignition part of the passlock....then u could wire the system to send the proper resistance to the ecm......
Where theres is a wire there's a way.

so I am just safer on taking it to the dealer?  I am afirad of making things worse instead of better

Not sure where you live, but I would check with someone on-line or at the dealer to see if there is or was any CAMPAIGN Notices thru GM Service on the Ignition switch, Computer, PASSLOCK, etc.
Also, try some of your 12 volt shops, maybe they could recommend a service garage
