I will be try and discribe what is happening, from what I can tell I have everything hooked up right. (This isn't the frist 3.5 I've installed)

1st problem, when I arm it (everything is good) when I disarm it there is a second "fant chirp" after the disarm chirp.

2nd problem - and it might be related to the frist one. When trying to start it from the remote, it cranks over the engine but it doesn't start, and you get the siren making that same "fant chirp" on consently - untill you press the remote again or hit the brake to kill the start.

I think I've rulled out the Passlock by-pass, cause I unpluged the by-pass - left the key in and it still does the same thing. I want to think I have something hooked up funny, but I can't think what

Anyone have any ideas?  or what to look at?

From what I can tell, yes - cause as an alarm it works fine (I think) it locks the door, goes off with the doors open....    should I change it and see what happenes?  Also since you brought that up, the by-pass and the brain are connected to different ground spots.

just an update, its still not working....

I played with the Grounds and that didn't change anything, I did take the unit out and plug it into another car here that has the same model and everything works great so I know there is nothing wrong with the unit, its something with my wiring in the 2005 GMC Jimmy.

isnt this vehicle PL II? if so, how can you test it by just leaving a key in the ignition?   it shouldnt start.....    the faint chirp does sound like a poor ground to me......

you may have two different issues (unless your bypass gets ground on the same wire which could account for both problems if it's a ground issue)
