Hopefully someone can help me. My buddy has a 97 chevy pickup. He currently has a code alarm elite 2100 on it. He says everything works on it alright, he just wants a new one. He really wants a remote start, so we are putting a crimestopper  cs2011rs on it to replace the code alarm. I figured that we can use some of the existing wires from the code alarm for the crimestopper right? However, my buddy doesn't have the install manual. Can anybody tell me what wires are what for the code alarm? Any help would be great!

just get a wire diagram for that truck.  Click site search at the bottom of the Blue column on the left, follow it to your car.

Code Alarm usually has the wiring diagram on the back of the "brain"
