I'm putting a remote starter in this car, and need to know how to properly wire relays to connect the two wires on the clutch switch. I assume that one of the wires(on the clutch switch) goes to pin 30 and the other wire(on the clutch switch) goes to pin 87. as to energizing the relay at start to connect these, I'm at a loss. any info appreciated! Thanks

well please do tell me what is correct. that is what i was needing. and yes it is for a manual tranny.(ultrastart 2256m) and no it does not give precise instructions on how to bypass. it says " type three(i have already researched what type it is) connect switch- install a relay to connect the two wires at the switch when the remote starter is activated." I'm justing looking for some help.

bobk said"P.S. your relay idea is wrong." well please tell me then what is correct! this r/s unit is an ultrastart 2256m for manual tranny, and the install guide only says "type3-connect switch-install a relay to connect the two wires at the switch when the remote starter is activated." and I researched the switch type and I am 100% positive that it is a type three. now all I need is a little kind help with wiring the relay to perform this function.(p.s. judging by the relay diagrams that I've looked at on this site, my idea is correct .

so, I have a ground while running output. do I wire this to leg 85 on the relay and then 12v constant to 86 so that when starting, it will energize the relay and make contact between 30 and 87?

the only possible output I can use (there isn't a dedicated bypass output on this r/s unit unfortunately) is the ground while running output, normally used for bypass modules. could I run 12vpos. to #86, and ground w/running to #85. and then the switch wires to #30 and #87? do you think that will work?

I thought about that, but was afraid that it would bypass the clutch when the ig. wire gets energized, even when not remote starting, thus defeating the purpose of the switch. it would work great if I didnt have to connect all Ig. wires off of the alarm.

clutch bypass

with out the pedal pressed

1 test the wire with the ignition off

2 test the wire with the ignition on

3 test the wire with the key in the start position

with the pedal pressed

1 test the wire with the ignition off

2 test the wire with the ignition on

3 test the wire with the key in the start position

with this info for every wire at the switch,determining what type of clutch switching system you have will be easy

Direct Feed:

Negative:

Positive:need relay for this system

Normally: need relay for this system
