I recently installed an Avital 4300 in my Jeep Cherokee. Everything works perfectly when the vehicle is not running. Once the vehicle is running the alarm no longer responds to input from the remote. I can't disarm or shutdown the vehicle after being started via the remote. I tried both remotes to no avail. Where did I go wrong?

I know this sounds like DEI's tech support, but the 1st thing would be to CHECK THE GROUND. It sounds like it is trying to ground out through some other circuit. Once you confirm you have an EXCELLENT ground, try another unit real quick if possible. If not possible, start disconnecting circuits not having to do with remote start staying running (keyless, park lights, hood pin, brake) and after each one, try remote. if it responds at rest to remote and doesn't durning rs, antenna should be able to rule out. Try these and let us know more info.

I used to have a remote start unit on this vehicle and now that I think about it, I couldn't shutdown the vehicle using that remote either. At the time I just thought it was the unit, it was a budget unit (about $25.) So after further thought I am going to focus my testing on the ignition harness (Constant 12V, Starter, Ignition 1 & 2, Accessory) and the ground, as those are connections used for both units.
