Yes, the domelight wire will work fine. The Viper systems will make a second chirp after arming, to remind you that you forgot to close the car door.........the domelight delay will cause you to get this extra chirp..........but you can go into the programming menu and just turn it off.

Cool, thanks Chris.  I have done some extensive searching on here and it seems there are mutliple answers for the same question. 

one thing you want to check on doing the dome light supervision as a door trigger is once you test the wire and see what state it rests and trigger at make sure that if and when the BCM shut off (most new fords do this after 25 to 30 minutes) that the voltage doesn't drop off completely to nothingness because the aftermarket alarm will see this voltage drop off as a trigger and will automatically set the alarm off. i had this happen on a 2006 lincoln zephyr earlier this week. 30 minutes on the dot and the 771xvr would go crazy. btw, that is the worst troubleshooting is to try something and have to sit for 30 minutes or more to see if that fixes it. good luck and hope this helps."I cannot teach anybody anything, I can only make them think."
