ok guys - here we go again!! I drive a 1994 subaru impreza wrx and I want dome light supervision. My alarm is an avital maxx1 that DOESNT have dome light supervision. I live in england and so I've had to import a 528t as they're just not available over here. This is what I want to do - when I kill the alarm and unlock my doors I want my dome light to come on until I've started the engine. My alarm has been connected to the common trigger wire for all 4 door pins (which are negative switched) so I need to keep this as its the only way my alarm knows that a door has been opened otherwise it'll just rearm itself after 30 seconds regardless of whether or not a door is open. If it can't be done then I'll just throw the 528t on ebay and try and get my money back.
Any ideas or help would be MUCH appreciated

Split the unlock output from the alarm with 2 diodes. Have one trigger the unlock wire in the car, and have the other one trigger the 528T. Have the 528T provide a ground output to the common door trigger. Set the 528T to about 30 seconds by adjusting the dial on its side.
If you are not sure how to wire the 528T, I could download a manual for it and describe every connection that needs to be made.

thanks for the reply - if I wire it like this then my understanding is that the light would stay on for 30 secs then go out? I would really like it to go out when I switch on the ignition - if it can be done. Also, would I get a 'false' alarm if I were to lock the car again straight away after the 30secs?

If you added another relay into the setup you could have the domelight shut off after the ignition is turned on.
Arming the alarm within 30 seconds of disarming it will make the alarm think a door is open. I can't think of an easy way around it

ok - I managed to get myself a 528t imported here from the US (you can't buy them in England) and I've wired it like this :
Yellow = Ground
Brown = dome light trigger wire in vehicle
Black w/stripe = (pulsed negative) unlock output from alarm
Black = Ground
Red = permanent +12V Fused supply
This turns on my domelight for the duration of the timer when I unlock the doors, what I want to do now is wire in a relay that will kill this when I turn my ignition to start the car.
I've tried the instructions here
https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=75231&KW=528t+dome+light
but it doesn't work, the domelight doesn't come on and the alarm thinks that the door's open - I waited all this time for my 528t to arrive and now I can't get the blasted thing to work properly
can anyone help me??
