Hello, I am looking for a remote start with alarm wiring diagram for a 2002 Toyota Highlander.  I've seen various posts that I must go into either the driver or passenger doors to tap into the power locks and I've also seen diagrams that say that all I need to do is to go to the passenger kick panel.  Can someone set me straight on this?

Also, is the Toyota Highlander the same as a RX300?

Notes:

NOTE: Some models have an immobilizer system that needs to be bypassed during remote start.    *1 The BECU (Body ECU) is behind the glove box, it is the module to the right.  *2 To avoid the dome light delay, go to the Body ECU behind the glove box to get the individual door trigger wires. In the 19 pin plug, the driver door is RED / blue in pin 11 and the rear hatch is WHITE/ red in pin 6. In the 17 pin plug, the front passenger door is RED / blue in pin 16 and the 2 rear door is red in pin 15. Use all wires and diode isolate each.  *3 This is the key sense wire for the ignition switch. The wire changes colors after a junction plug. It is red on the ignition switch side and blue on the other side. Using the status output wire from the remote start to ground this wire will disarm the alarm without unlocking the doors.  *4 The ECM (Engine Control Module) is behind the glove box, it is the module to the left.  *5 The amplifier is under the rear load floor.

Would you happen to know what the polarity is for the "Lock & Unlock Motor"?

How can I get the fax back document #1070?

Did you get this information from the CD that you advertise on your website?

The motor polarity is (+) trigger. They should rest at nothing. Test the wires prior to hook up for verification of this though. I just emailed you a copy of the document needed.

Yeah, I sent him the information already. The system is kinda funky but it makes sense after you get the diagram.

Locks aren't too hard on these.  Go to the passenger kick.....

Find these three wires:

Lock---pink---tests by pushing the "lock" button on the door panel.

Unlock---light green----tests by inserting the key into the passenger door, and turning it to the unlock position.

Unlock Detection, a.k.a "child safety"----gray----shows a ground while the door is unlocked; goes dead when door is locked.

To lock the doors, you can just give a plain negative trigger to the pink wire.

To unlock the doors, split your alarm's unlock wire with two diodes.....send one to the gray, one to the light green.

Note:  The pink lock wire will NOT arm the factory alarm (if you have one).  If you need to arm the factory alarm, you must use the special relay setup that is usually mentioned for these cars.

Note:  If you want two-step unlocking, the only way to get it is to go into the driver's door.
