Weird toyota 4 runner A/C problem

A few days ago we had a customer come back on us...she complained that her a/c controls just stay in the max air mode..and was not able to lower it. This happens in remote start mode, and also with the key. Just wondering if anyone had any input on this situation.

did you check to make sure that all harnesses are plugged back in on the heater controls?

Only one single plug on the AC controls. Did this occur right after the RS install, or down the road?Mike M2

This did occur after the RS yes. The only connections made were: all high current wire:12v+,ign,acc...etc..tach,brake,parking lights..no a/c controls were touched..

What year....? You need to put that in your post.

if it is on a newer toyota sometimes the computer gets confused like on newer dodges. check all your connections and if everything is physically connected and power up properly then try disconnecting the negative battery terminal and letting the vehicle sit for about 10 - 15 minutes. reconnect and check. i had this happen on a dodge ram a couple of weeks ago and that fixed it right up. good luck and hope this helps."I cannot teach anybody anything, I can only make them think."

also see if the blower motor resistor is shot. usually it will work only on high if the resistor is shot.

temp. monitor plug was not plugged in after putting up the dash..this plug was located right under the steering column..and must have unplugged it self..after i removed the dash, and didnt look for anything to plug back in when i put the lower dash back together..thats what happens when ya get rushed..it was busy that day..thanks tho guys
