Vehicle: 2002 GMC Sonoma

Hi all- I recently installed a hornet 700t alarm systems that is supposed to integrate with the factory keyless entry system. But the system will only arm when I have the parking lights on- and it seems to disarm when I shut the parking lights off. When I lock or unlock the doors with the factory remote the alarm does not respond at all- unless the parking lights or headlight are on!! I am certain I have the parking light wire correct because I am getting 12 volts with the meter on the blue wire at the headlight switch when I put the parking lights on- I get no variation in voltage when turning the dimmer, and it drops voltage when I turn the parking lights off so it should be the correct one. The remote also seems to work fine when I am in the options mode for the alarm (it responds to all options) so what else could it be? I am wondering if it has anything to do with the GM automatic headlights system? Thanks in advance...

Can you still get into programming mode even with the parking lights off?

The only thing I can think of is to refer back to the install manual and make sure your power and parking lights wires are done correctly------parking light output is white, constant power input is red------if you accidentally switched the two, the alarm would only work with the lights on.
