I have used floral foam for a mold and it works pretty well, but for the price it is only good for small projects that are few and far between. Some resins however and for some reason, may eat away at the foam so it would be best to tape over the project or seal it with a sealant of some sort and then resin onto that if you find that is the case. (I found that this happens in the ones that feed live flowers more often than not)

My recommendation is to use

* Great Stuf for Narrow Cracks for smaller projects,
* Great Stuf for Large Gaps for medium sized projects,
* Great Stuf for Windows and Doors for projects that have to be wedged or form fitted to an area (say dash pod bubble of some sort that has to fit between the dash and windshield) and then
* AB foam for large projects or complex forms.
