one of my customer has a new ford w/ the backup cam on the tailgate and monitor in the mirror.   he removed his tailgate.  i am gonna do a platecamera..  obviuosly it would be convient to use the monitor in the mirror so he doesn't need to add a screen..

anyone messed w/ that?

It is going to have at least 3 wires on it.  It may have more.  If it has only 3 there will be Power, Ground, and Video.  You may have to put the vehicle in reverse to find the power wire.     What are the chances of removing the camera from the tailgate and Fabricate a housing to mount it on the plate?

The shield is just a ground connection that is braided around the other wires to stop interference from entering those wires.

Does anyone know the path of these wires. I want to tap into them and run the video on my Alpine 205?
Do they run down the drivers/passenger sills?
