2002 525 i bmw, remove radio?

need to put a over head in and a fm mod. thing is i have never dissassembled a bmw befor and i seriously can not figure out how to get the manufacturer radio out. please send help asap

I believe you need yo pull the volume knob off, and there is an allen head screw that will release the radio. It does not screw out all the way.

OR,

The trim peices on the dash pry off with a plastic tool, (to the left and right of the radio) revealing two phillips screws on top of the radio.

I can't remember from year to year, but if you had a picture I could tell you.

It is the allen wrench behind the volume knob.  Taking the dash apart will get you know where.

actually i checked the volume knob, no allen key. i actually did have to disassemble the whole dash
