Ahoy 12volters:

I've been looking for a good bass solution to mate to my JL 800 (800x1at2ohms) - it needs to fit in a proper box inside an impreza's trunk - as such I've ruled out a pair of 12's, I just don't have the proper space - I'm leaning toward a pair of 10's  - it seems to be the best I can do with respect to cone area. . .

What I really want is an "output monster" - can this be a building block?

it looks like anything else graphed in WinISD - so - uhhh - has anyone heard these or perhaps close relatives?  I'm a bit concerned about the smallish xmax, but it isn't that low....

I think these woofers are *beautiful* - exactly what I want in a woofer - the gorgeous black surround with that gorgeous, sexy, gloss black cone and traditional dust-cap - anyone?  Come on I really wanna use these beauties!

What kind of vent configuration are you inclined to do?
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

:::shrugs::: I mean the woofer graphs like anything else -
slot port@35hz or so... I can get ~2cft out of my trunk =/
I dunno stevdart, I was toying with these Exodus Audio Shiva 12's I think Kephart recommended the other day but I just don't think I'll be happy with a single woofer system . .
Mostly I'm afraid whatever I choose will have flaccid output - I just can't seem to get a bass solution that can keep up with my cabin speakers - AND fit in my trunk =(

Sedate,

I have not used the HO series from Parts Express, but I use a Titanic 12 in my Home theater and it is a great sub.  Very clean low end and great SPL.  I have had it for a few months and it is a great product.  I imagine that the HO series would be great as well.  The Dayton guys build some great stuff.

James...
The Dayton drivers are AWESOME drivers for the money. I have been using the MKI 12's in my HT for about 9 years now. Powered with 350WPC, they play low, loud and realtively clean... Not anything XBL related, certainly, but I'm certainly quite happy with them.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
