I have 91 chev van (starcraft convertion ) it has viper alarm and remote start. It is about 7years old . Everthing works alarm wise . When i try remote start it goes through all the motion ( dash lights up engine light comes on and just sits there . the starter does not engage or turn on . Could it be the hood sensor ( safty senser that stop engine from cranking remotly when open . How can i bypass it temparatly .

Do you think this is what it could be . It is rusty >

there is also a but under dash to push when setting remotes and what ever

thanks

Usually if the hood pin is faulty or damaged, the vehicle will not engage the remote start, so the fact your ignition comes on would mean that the problem lies elsewhere. If you want to check and see if it is the hoodpin, you can temporarily disconnect it. There is usually a female disconnect clipped on the bottom of it. If it remote starts, then you need to have the hood pin replaced.
Another item to check is to make sure the vehicle is not in Valet mode and that the safety switch (if installed) is not set to the "OFF" position. If the vehicle is in Valet mode, the LED from the Viper will be solid red. And the safety swtich will be a small toggle style switch with a red handle.

one of the 30 amp fuses is blown if ign comes on but no acc or crank, replace fuse and leave your rear blower on low or off and front on 1/2

probably under dash on driver side should be close to relay pack that will start clicking when you try to activate rs
