I have some gift certificates for Snap-on that I've saved up and am thinking about using before its too late. Anyways, what do you guys think of this soldering gun? I personally like the guns better than irons because I can safely keep them in the car with me (away from rugs/panels obviously) without worrying about burning something. Plus the light actually helps quite a bit. Is this gun a decent one? The ones we have at my work right now basically suck and the tips only last about 10-15 uses.
Thanks

I looked at the picture and the description. I have no knowledge about this one but from the looks of it, it seems OK. My big question is: Are replacement tips/parts available from SnapOn or the original manufacturer? I work in a place that sells Weller products and folks are always coming in for parts for some obscure brand and can't find same anywhere. Weller dealers will always have access to repair parts and accessories.

It's a good gun.  I've had a few over the last 20 years.   When you have the "big" tip in and have been soldering a lot of stuff be careful where you put it, it takes a while to cool down.
Think. It's not illegal yet.
