Is there any way to make the siren ad chirp louder for the viper 791vx alarm? Got mie hooked up in my crx but unless it has somethin  to echo off of it doesn't seem very loud at all.

OK, did you read the directions on the 514N box or we talking used system here? The 514N siren is known as the "soft-chirp" because it purposely chirps 6dB softer than it's constant output. So, chirps and warn-away are quieter than full blast, which is ideal for people living in tight communities. Heck, I never even activate chirps unless a customer specifically requests them because they are annoying IMO. Anyway, if you want to deactivate the soft chirp feature, you clip the black wire loop at the rear of the siren. If it's still not loud enough for you, then you need to select a better installation location so that the sound can be travel/broadcast versus being blocked/absorbed. It's been so long since I've done a CRX I can't even remember where I used to put the siren. Oh yeah, another alternative for you is to hook up the horn and use honks instead.

They are extremely loud and painful...791vx siren - Last Post -- posted image.. Supposed to be placed in the interior, wired in parallel with the siren. They will inflict torture on the ears of the thief...at least assuming the install's not half-assed where he can get the wires within seconds.
