rear defroster and xko1

The rear defrost and side mirror defrost should turn on only when the temp inside the car is 32 degrees or colder. This should also work for heated seats if you have them. If you want to use the defrost output from the clifford, you will have to change the polarity to 12V and set it for latched. There will be a purple wire coming off of the relay that goes to the defrost.

it has been below 32F around here and the defroster does not come on through the xk01 is there something i can do, also if i used the 50.5x should i not use the blue/white (-)200ma 2nd status/defogger output and hook it the rear defroster relay at the bcm,but i would really like to kmow why the xk01 is not turning on the rear defroster

or would a differen module work better

I used an XK01 in a 2007 Hummer H2. The rear defrost and heated mirrors never come on and the heated seats keep coming on and cycling on/off every 30 seconds even when you start it with the key. :( Details are in another XK01 thread if you're curious.GDK Electronics

do i need to hook up the 2nd accessory wire, or would it just be better to hook up the clifford defoger wire to the bcm?
