I have a 98 Jetta Tdi and I recently replaced my speakers with some Kenwoods and I would like to add a 10" subwoofer.

I'm fairly new to the car audio stuff, and my question is would this RF amp (I'll bridge it and have the subwoofer voicecoils wired in a series)-

sound good or work well with this with this 10" RF subwoofer-

My next question it, I have 8 gauge wire ran from the battery to my trunk, could I still use that for this amp, or would I have to upgrade to 4 gauge power and ground wires?  Any help or advice is appreciated.

i can't comment on how it will sound, but it should work pretty well together.
and your 8ga should be fine with that amp.

I hate RF Punch subs. Those have horrible quality dust caps IMO.
The system will only sound as good as the install and the enclosure.
Looky here about enclosures and how important they are.

What would you reccomend then instead of the RF Punch subwoofers for about the same price?

I'm not gonna lie, that looks pretty sweet. How would it match up with that amp? What box would you put that sub with. (that phase box from teamtoxicbass.com's price is a little too steep for me) Thats a 10" right?

Would that be a good box? Would the woofer even fit in a box that small?

Thanks for the good info.

that phase box was just a test box to show people how important the enclosure is.
I'd match that amp fine...if you do buy that sub than get the d2 coils
Me, I hate sealed enclosures. I love ported alignments.

I was looking around on that sight, and I realized that that Elemental Designs is located literally 15 minutes away from my house. I live outside of marshalltown. Do they have a store, I could go pick some stuff up and look at some stuff, I might just buy their NINe series amp, that looks pretty sweet. Looks like they have some good stuff, I think that its ironic that they are located so close to me.
