length of port, blow through box?

anyone know how to figure out the length of the port for a blowthrough style box? I want to learn how to build them. Everyone I know says build a sealed box their better. I just want to learn how to build different boxes. any help would be great thanks.

building a proper blow through is not for a novice.
Since you do not know how to even figure out how to tune an enclosure properly I would not recommend designing a ported blow through.

yup, know what your sayin. it ain't easy, but it damn sure ain't rocket science. i have built plent y of sealed enclosures for friends and they are easy. just tryin to find something different to do. ported isn't tough. built a few but always had round ports never square. thanks for the insight though. that's the same thing i was told by a guy i used to street race with. he works for the local car audio shop here.

An enclosure is an enclosure.  What's so special about a so-called blow through box other than the enclosure sits in a truck bed?  Calculate it just like any other vented system if that's what's appropriate.
