I haven't had much luck getting responses to my previous posts, but hopefully this will be an easy one. My "authorized CompuStar" installer says he can't control the state of the LED of my window defroster button when using the the relay feature on my fob to activate it remotely. Since the remote starter also disables the OEM defroster timer, I really need to know if the defroster is on or off. He is offering to install an extra LED to indicate the status of the defroster, but I really don't want yet another LED, plus there isn't a good location for it.
I am hoping someone can confirm he is either right or wrong, or maybe help me get in touch with CompuStar since I am not an installer/dealer.
Car: 2007 Toyota RAV4 Sport (V6/4WD)
System: Compustar Pro P2W900FMR
I REALLY would appreciate any help here, as this has been a rather frustrating experience so far.

At the back of the ECU find a black wire next to a BIG FAT brown one. Have your installer set an output to latch for say.....7 or 8 min. On this connection the light WILL NOT turn on, on the switch. This is why you need a timed output. No relay is needed.

So you are confirming it is not possible to get the status light to work correctly (the defroster part works)? Thanks for the quick response!

I really need help here guys. I can't believe I am unable to locate anyone else with a similar vehicle and has opted for the defroster control feature. Does anyone know how I can get in touch with CompuStar? Thanks!

it has nothing to do with compustar, its your toyota...hes activating the defroster, but you can not turn on the led unless the button is actually pushed, calling compustar wont redesign your toyota

Why do you care if the light comes on when the vehicle is remote started.....doesn't make any sense to me. When you remote start, are you close enough to the vehicle to see the light turn on?

Because I like to know if my defroster is running or not once I get into the vehicle.

I just wanted confirmation if the installer was right or wrong, that's all. It helps me decide if I have to install another LED.
