I just got done installing factory power windows and locks from a 2001 z/24 on my 1998 regular cavalier. I pulled the front half of the harness and sorted out what I did not need from it and the locks and windows work from the switches just fine. Unfortunately I did not get the factory RKE module before the car got crushed and I now want keyless entry, I do not care about driver door priority. I left the Light Blue and White wires that went to the RKE intact figuring I could hook up to these for keyless entry however my brain is fried right now and not sure if this will work or not??? I think the wires just need a negative signal to lock/unlock but not sure.

If all was installed as it was on the 01 then the white and light blue should go to negative when pressing lock and unlock on the door. Test them to make sure and if they do show negative when locking and unlocking get yourself an old fashioned bulb test light, hook the ground clamp to ground and tap the white and light blue wires, if all is well the doors will lock and unlock when tapping the light to the wires in question. The test light will supply a low current negative through the filament in the bulb (hence the reason you should never use a standard test light when probing for wires).
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.
