Great site! I am hoping someone can help me. I am doing a project on a 2008 Ford Escape and I am trying to find which wire is the +12VDC for the dashboard lights (center stack, cluster, etc). I found the parking lights (thanks to some other posts) but the dash lights don't come on with that wire, only the exterior parking lights.

Any help is appreciated!

Do you have a Digital multimeter (DMM)? You should be using one to test wires in a car. What you can do is probe wires with your DMM and test to find which wire(s) show 12v+ with dash lights turned on.

well the wire that i have for parking lights is VIOLET/WHITE in DKP. this should trigger your dash/cluster lights as well.

I tried the Violet/white in DKP with no sucess (~12 pin harness right?). I DMM all the pins in the area and couldn't find one that was +12VDC with the parking lights on. When I check at the switch there is a WHITE/ violet wire that is +12VDC when the PL are on, but when I hooked my relay to it, it just buzzed. I hooked the relay up using one of the typical relay diagrams on this site for a light flash. I realized this vehicle has the Autolamp, so I tried the by pass, that didn't work either. I did learn I can turn on the exterior parking lights, but not the interior cluster & dashboard which is what I need.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
