I installed a 791XV on a 2006 F250 Diesel. Had to use 454 DEI Pulse Generator for the tach signal.

The remote start will not activate in the morning. I am in Florida. Doesn't matter if it is warm or cold. After it has been started with the key, Remote Start works fine the rest of the day.

It doesn't even attempt to crank. It activates normally, and the 15 second programmed delay sets for the wait to start, and then it just does nothing.

Any ideas?

for those that are unsure, this vehicle has a digital tach signal, that's why i had to use the generator

Try setting the unit to voltage sensing instead of using the pulse generator and see if it works in the morning. Set the voltage sensing sensitivity to low.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

tried that. tried all settings. remote start doesn't hold. typically with diesels voltage sensing isn't sufficient. thanks for trying.

Use alternating sense instead. I use this for all Ford diesel trucks and vehicles that do not have a tach signal that doesn't go above 6 volts.

just to make sure that we are on the same page, it doesn't even attempt to start, unless the vehicle has been started at some point in the day first.

Jeff, will that still solve my problem? Do i still need to keep the generator?

Shaugn, the issue isn't the cranking, or the crank time. Actually, on this vehicle it takes very little effort to crank the engine. The issue is that it does not attempt the crank. If at 9am the customer tries for the first time to remote start the truck, and it sat all night, it wil not remote start. If he physically starts the truck with key, then anytime after that, whether it be 9:15am or 5pm, the remote start works fine.
