oops...   I meant the hood pin switch left dangling.  I'll re-ground the negative safety switch wire.  should i install that switch on the nss line that came with the unit?  i dont know why i'd bother with it-- i dont care that much about this damn work truck!

It's not really necessary unless you want the ability to disable remote starting later on - the important thing is that the wire is grounded.

well, its alive.  re-grounded the nss away from the brain ground, and found a new brake wire.  all is well in my world. 

you are a gentleman and a scholar!  i would've torn my hair out without your help.
i spend most of my days working on computers, so if you ever need anything in that department, dont hesitate to ask.

Not a problem...that's a screwy vehicle. I've had issues myself on late-model GM brake inputs (they aren't switched directly by the pedal anymore).
And since you mentioned - do you know any way to make electrical diagrams with Photoshop or other software? I've used Visio lately but I kind of have a feeling Photoshop could make them much better.
