I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

My 99 Accord EX-L's alarm has started going off for no reason at all.  It goes of 2 or 3 times every night.  The neighbours really hate me as a result.

I took it in to Honda who tried to fix it with no success.  I asked for it to be  permanently disarmed.  I don't care about not having an alarm - I just want it gone.  They  have said that it is not possible to disarm without also taking the remote keyless entry and power door locks with it.  They only theory they have is that it is the remote rather than the car.  I don't buy it because since this problem started happenning - the securtiy light on the driver side door which usually blinked when the car was locked from the outside, now does not always blink.  Seems to me to be some problem in the car.  I am trying their theory by taking the batteries out of the remote tonight ( and it's not going to be fun when the alarm goes off).

1.  Can just the alarm be disarmed without taking the remote keyless entry and power door locks with it?

2.  If not - then do I have any other options?  Should I be considering replacing the entire system - keyless entry and alarm with an aftermarket model (Clifford?).

Any other suggestions before I ask my dealer to go ahead and looks my precious keyless entry :-)

Thanks for your time.

Yes it can be disabled.  I however dont recommend it.   Pull the drivers door panel, there are a few wires coming from the door lock cylinder, probe the wires and find the one that shows ground when you turn the key in the lock to unlock.  This wire is usually blue.  Find a good ground, and ground that wire.  Your alarm will now not arm.
