I'm getting ready to purchase a new amp. I'm on a budget so I can't get anything to amazing. I just bought an Alpine SWS-1223D. An I was wondering if I would be better off with a small amp (i.e. Rockford Fosgate Punch P250.2) or a larger like sony 800 watt or pioneer 760 watt. Not really concerned with extensive features either. Just wondering if a small rockford or kicker would hit as hard as a less efficient larger amp?

Of those three I'd take RF amplifier - it probably puts out more real power than either of those other two you mentioned.

For a single 12, I like than RF250.2 is a fine choice for a budget amplifier.
