I've got an PG XS2500..I've got one Memphis 10 DVC one one channel(not bridge)..Why is the amp. getting hot really fast?

Might want to try and bridge it instead of only running 1 out of 2 channels and see what happens. Also what size power and ground cables do your have. And last but not least check to see if you have a clean ground connection.

Well I was gonna say maybe you're giving the amp too low of an impedence, but then I saw this amp is stable down to 1 ohm per channel, or 2ohms when bridged, so it's highly unlikely that this is what's causing it to heat up like you say.  But you should definitely try to brigde it just cuz you'll probably get more power out of the amp.

Does the amp get so hot that it goes into its thermal protection mode?

If you feel the cone on the sub is it getting hot too? Did you try and bridge it yet?

Might not be getting enough power from your car. Amplifiers will run hot when they're not getting the power they need. This also can cause an amp to burn out prematurely if it's not remedied soon. It happened to me so I know!
