viper 3002 accessories

I have a basic Viper 3002 in my 1995 Honda Del Sol and i was looking to add some more sensors and such for more protection. thank you. i was planning on jumping on ebay cause everything was a lot cheaper. I just couldn't find that hood sensor anywhere but that site. Would those be easy to install? My experience with wiring is basically 4 decks, lots of speakers, a couple amps, subs, neon (inside and out), and some gauges. think i'll be alright?

I prefer not to use that sort of hood pin unless you live someplace where it never rains. Those pins eventually rust, or the connection corrodes, and will cause it to fail. I use mercury switches usually. http://www.dealtree.com/cart/select_item.cfm?cont=94556 .They are easy to install, just 2 wires. One to ground, and one to the hood trigger of your alarm. You should be able to handle the install of any of those things. Just post if you have a problem, and i'm sure you'll find help.

where exactly would that mercury switch be placed? would the hood sensor wires just be coming out of the brain unit and i would just need to connect it to that?

It goes on the bottom side of the hood, i usually ground it outside under the hood, and then run one wire into the vehicle. Yes, your hood pin input wire will be coming off the brain. Have to say that if I don't fit a hood witch the customer would rightly hammer me. Ref corrosion, I know we've al been here before but I hate mercury switches (or whatever substitute health and safety now allows) and I have no problems with pin switches, I aim for the highest place or on a bracket and I coat them with a water dispersal spray, I also try to only use Harrison switches and I had one on a Maxima for 5 years, no problems in our damp climate (think Seattle).
