I now plan to run 2 lanzar 2000 watt 1 channel amps, I already have 1 lanzar pushing my 2 ohm rockford power hx2 subs and a 1000 watt sony xplod running all of my highs. When the bass hits, my head and dash lights look like a disco party. I upgraded my alternator to a 90 amp and also have a spare red top optima in my trunk, I bought 2 scosche caps with the digital voltage readout and all they did was show the drop in voltage when the bass hit. Do I need a nuclear power plant in my trunk to prevent head and dash light dimming?

You UPGRADED to the 90 amp alternator?  Is that the biggest one available for your vehicle?  If you would have asked us before you bought the capacitors, we could have saved you that money.    How much are the trunk mounted Nuclear Power Plants selling for these days?

I can get a 130 amp alternator for a little over 400 but putting a 400 dollar alternator on my car would be like putting a gold nugget in a turd. I'd rather just rattle the quarter panels off and get a new car, oh and I think ebay might have a trunk mountable nuke plant in there somewhere.

So, you added a Redtop in the trunk? -What kind of battery is in the engine bay?

Also, the caps aren't helping you out, at all. They're only making things worse.

Have you done the Big3 upgrade? You should have when you upgraded your alternator.

With your two off-brand (yep, Sony included) '1000watt' amps, you're only getting about 500watts RMS for the both of them -if that. That's not that much.

What does your voltage drop to on hard notes?

yeah...those amp won't put out more than 500 watts each MAYBE.
If they are the Opti 2000Ds than yeah they are decent amps...I doubt they are

The reason I say 500watts for the both of them is because I once had a Lanzar '1000watt' amp (30a worth of fusing) that only put out 250watts. If the Sony is CEA-compliant it may put out a little more than that, but I still doubt it LOL.

All of the lanzar amps are crap except the Opti-line...everything else is super overrated crap.
I have a Lanzar "600 WATT MAX AMP"...fused at 20 amps...yeah it puts out around 80-100 watts lol

The lanzar amp has 4 30 amp fuses and the profile has 4 25 amp fuses so I take it the lanzar has a bigger power supply than the profile. I hope it will push decently with both amps on both subs because i'm married and my wife, yes (boss)limits my spending so this is all I have to work with.

I'd rather have a smaller higher quality amp that puts out real power but less than an amp that puts out crappy power
