ok here is the deal, i already have one amp hooked up to a pair of 6x9's.  i just bought a new amp for my subs.  i was wondering, would it be safe for me to hook up the ground connection for my new amp to the same ground connection as my other 6x9 amp?  or would i have to find a new ground connection?

You should always try to ground any audio equipment to the same point, this will eliminate any chance of getting a ground loop and causing engine noise. You should run a seperate wire to each amplifier though.

Try the fosgate dual amp kit, it has a multi ground and fused multi power, up to 4 guage power and ground. This usually comes 4guage and 8 guage with a 4 guage ground.

if you do decide to ground your components to the same point, always put a different cable to each one and put the cable going to the amp that will draw the most current closest to the grounding point.

The instructions for my Kenwood amp say not to ground it to another amp's ground termial ON THE AMP itself, although I have done it. I believe my Sirius Sat. radio is grounded to the amp terminal itself, no problems.

The satellite radio tuners draw very little current, which is probably why you were able to ground it to the amp's terminal and have it still work.  Had it shorted out, though, you might have had some problems; and needless to say it's definitely not the correct way to do it.
