Hi everyone,
I have recently installed a astro rs613 in a 2002 Trailblazer, I used a AMDL for the locks, problem is when the car is started it sometimes will not unlock doors, I tried to have the owner lower his heating fan setting and replaced windshield receiver for the astro. no luck.
Anyone ever have a similar problem?? perhaps even something with the AMDL..
thanks.

There were some recalls on the earlier models, how old is this one? Contact tech support.

There was also a range issue. Im wondering why you didn't use the astro module? IOM-GMC3 this thing is bullet proof.  It's those "sometimes" issues

that are the most dificult to cure.  This is officially a DEI product, and it bums me out.

I called Tech and they recommended lowering fan setting as the fan motor may be sending out some interferance, ..the module is starting up the car every time, and no range problems.
so I doubt its a transmitter issue.
p.s. those Canadians seem to be cranky since DEI took over.

DEI comes along with their DEEP pockets, and screws up a great thing.

Did they tell you how/why the fan setting would have ANYTHING to do with this issue?

I hate to say it..... but that sounds like a DEI answer.astrostart unlock problem? -- posted image.

I would be looking at your AMDL.

Well they said the brushes in the fan may be sending out a RF singal that may interfere with the antenna if the fan is set to high, which makes sense to me..but now it seems like it happens when the fan is set to a low setting also,,
so I may just try swapping the AMDL..the only thing that bothers me is the unlock works fine when the car is not running.
thanks.

Gary I thought I was the cynical one here, why do I have G4 US made Clifford (pre DEI) product on my own car.

A little update for anyone interested, I talked to the bypass guys and they recommened getting the ground and 12 volt constant for the AMDL directly from the OBDll plug, they informed me it could be picking up noise and this was a fix..
I'll keep my fingers crossed and get back in a few weeks if it clears the problem.
Its too bad the DEI Astrostart and DEI Bypasskit guys don't communicate better about these types of problems and tell the dealers and installers who are in the trenches.
