Can someone please tell me how I can make something that runs on a small 1.5V battery run on a 12 Volt car battery. Do I need some resistors for this job

I would buy a power adapter that plugs into the cigarette lighter, cut off the end and splice it in to a 12 volt supply. They are cheap and supply a reliable current. Plus it is fast & easy.

What exactly do you want the 1.5volts for?

I will have to go with Two_Cold, the variable power supply it's the way to go. That is if you can find a power supply with a 1.5v output. Most of them start at 3v and and end on 9v. Other wise you are goin to have to use a battery. In that case use a lithium battery they last longer and they are resitant to cold.

Ya know a Circuit Board, a zerner diode, some resistors, and a 2n3055 transistor and you could have a 1.5V Voltage regulator. THat is if your electroncally inclined.

Here is the power adapter that will work for you.

It is a 12 volt to 1.5 volt for $16. The easiest way to go.
