i bought 2 15ns and put them in a ported box and faced them to the back of car but thay dont really hit hard so i blocked the port and thay sound way better but im wondering if i turn them around and put the port in side the car will it make it hit harder i have a 93 thunderbird with mempes 400watt amp mempes 15ns. i would trun around and see but it took 3hrs getting the box in the trunk so if it wont benafit im not doing it thanx.

probably not. usually boxes in cars turned toward the seating area sound ALOT worse the facing backward. Sounds to me like the box is an improper one for the subs themselves.

If the box sounds better with the port blocked than its because you have a crappy ported enclosure

Yea ur tune must be *really* off - try designing an enclosure to the following specs:

Like the posts before said the port may be tuned way off. Check those specs and see if that doesnt work, and you know it sounds good with the port closed. You may want to purchase a sealed box for them. Either that or it may be a matter of size of box and how much air you have to move in the trunk
