grounding with power wire?

I'm grounding my amp i have a piece of 0 gauge power wire left and want to know if i can use that. Or do i have to buy 0 gauge ground wire, i also want to ground my head unit i was told to ground it with atleast 16 gauge is this correct.

Wire is wire.  The only difference between "power" and "ground" wire is the color.

ok thanks now with the head unit do i ground it using the ground on the harness or use the 16 gauge and ground it to the chasis of the car.

Either one will work for ya. Doesn't really matter i've never had issues doing either way.
