I just bought a 2004 Ford F550 Lariat Super Duty.  Im wanting to put a pioneer AVIC-D3. in it.  will this fit?  is it the same size as the dash of a 350 or 450?  can anyone direct me as to what dash kit (if any) i will need to use for this application?  thanks for everyones help in advance.  if someone could answer asap, it would be appreciated, im wanting to put this in by the weekend.

thanks,

Troy

i would suggest taking the stock H/U out .take some measurements of your opening. and compare those to the new H/U. you might be able to just cut and trim a old mounting kit or one of those pos $10 kits from walmart.

when i goto the metra website, it shows for the f150 but if i look at a 2004 f150, its not the same dash or radio.  my radio is a double din, but im not sure if i make a bracket for it to fit in.

i appreciate everyones help, and maybe someone has done one of these before, that can shed some experienced help.

if its the clip style radio ive done that with the 5600 no real big deal just trim out the bottom section however the avic d3 has no cage so you have to  either A: use back strap for bracing or B: what i do find an old double din cage and install it into the kit then insert the hu and screw the two together the dash kit snaps in.  hope this helps
