Civic component install

Hello, I have a 93 Honda civic coupe and I want to install my 3 way components. I have them connected to a Directed 150 amp, and at some point I'm looking to get a bigger amp. I was wondering is 16gauge to thick for this application? Also I would like to run the wires from inside to the door and what would be the best way of doing this? Any help would greatly be appreciated.Integration20

common rule of thumb... 16-14 gauge for speakers and 12-10 gauge for subs. Assuming you can get the interior portion of the door off to access the speakers already, there is always a factory tube/gromlet towards the front part of the door where the hinges are. This is used to route factory wiring like speakers, power locks/mirrors/windows, etc... Run your wires through there. You may have to remove the kick panel to get to the tube, or you may have to snoop around under the dash for the opening. I've always found it easiest to run fishtape or a coathanger through the tube first, then the wire. It makes it easier to find the opening, and to help pull the wires through (since most 16-14 gauge wire is still flimsy)Squirrel
