Factory Amp Location, 2004 Mercedes C230 - FYI

Installing an aftermarket head unit in a 2004 Mercedes C230 isn't too bad if you don't mind adding an amp.  The signal from factory head unit to amp is MOST fiber optic but at the amp location which is in the rear, right passenger side panel (with armrest) you'll find wires going all the speakers including the center channel and subwoofer.  A small five channel amp will fit comfortably where the factory amp was but there's plenty of room under the passenger seat if you'd like a location more accessible.  Of course if your C230 has the phone, changer or any other options running on MOST fiber optic you'll be giving them up.
