95 dodge dakota, stereo

Hi there,

Im helping a friend install a stereo in a car.

Vehicle is a 95 Dodge Dakota, it had a Infinty stereo in, took it out put in a cd player.  The Infinity worked fine with the speakers.

After installing the stereo and checking (and double and tripple) checking the wiring, the stereo is only get sound out the front two speakers, and that sound is, very low and tinny.. kind of like if you were listerning to it through headphones, thats the best way to describe it.

Any ideas on the cause of it?

My philosophy is:  you don't want to try to marry in to OEM systems, especially Infinity or Bose.  You just replaced the deck; the rest of that system is dependent on the original deck.  Change everything to aftermarket...period.

But someone might give you a cheaper and simpler solution, so hang in there.

Harness... I wired everything across as I was supposed to and I came across what looked like TWO ground wires... one was the braded cable and one was BLACK/ green I think.

haha fixed it the blue cable which on the harness says "power antenna" and the blue wire from the dodge were not wired.
