I decided to go with a add on remote start system in my 1998 Camaro instead of a full on alarm. But I am having some problems already, well kind of. The unit will just not power on.

This is what I tried to hook up just to test is out. Power wires to constant power, ground, then the hood latch switch a park neutral switch(both of which I just grounded).

I get nothing at all.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Yay. . . . .

If the hoodpin wire is grounded, the unit thinks the hood is open, and therefore won't work.
Disconnect the hoodpin wire, or install the hoodswitch and close the hood.

I tried that, still does not power on at all.
This is what I have hooked up now to try to power it up. Both of the red power leads, straight to a 12 volt source. Black is grounded, BLACK/ white wire(neutral safety switch) is grounded. And I am using a 12 volt positive as the pulse source to turn it on.
Yay. . . . .

Problem solved. It was a bad ground.

More problems to come.
