Wondering if anyone has added an amp with speaker inputs to the factory stereo? Location and colour of rear door speaker wires please? Is it possible to hook the remote turn-on wire to a wire located in the cd-changer cable in the trunk? Or will this only work if selecting to play a cd in the changer?

I was told a blue wire on the head unit is the remote wire by somebody. Is that true?

Thanks!

All depends on what head unit you have mate. You can use the antenna output wire on most head units to turn on an amp (some are only live when the radio is on, although these sort of sets are rare these days).

Don't know if the wiring is the same for the vw's here in the UK but be VERY carefull if you decide to use a conventional ISO wiring loom .VW in all their wisdom have changed the pin configuration and this can lead to your car becoming a "bonfire"!   :(
