Hi I was wondering what is the average and highest DB that two eights will hit in a ported box? I was wondering this because I had two peerless eights in a ported box that hit 138.2 at 57HZ but then I switched them from 16 ohms to 4 ohms and got my zapco 750 and they hit a lot harder im going to get it tested again on Monday probably. these are the eights I am using.

is that number on the Term Lab?? Seems like a hard to believe score.
There is no average db for anything...it is all woofer, enclosure, and install dependent.
I know someone who got 149.xx with two 8's. Asking the average output is like asking the average top speed of cars.

I dunno I've heard some loud eights before - I ran eights for awhile back in the day.  Those eights look reasonably efficient with OK excursion - I'm sure they'd do great.

But - yea - there really are not any hard or fast rules here - cabin gain, gain settings, etc., all add up for different results everytime/every car.

I think I saw ur car over in the system photo forum - u have a hatchback right?  I think a pair of eights on a big zapco amp like that would sound outstanding . . . I betcha real clean too.  Have you deadened your vehicle?

Linky no worky.
Digital Designs is about the only company that has a high performance SPL 8 inch sub...they have a new pretty beefy 8 inch sub coming out soon.

I saw some video where 2 Soundsplinter 8's hit around 150 db's on a termlab powered by a Orion 2500 watt amp I think.

I have used the Digital Designs 8" a couple of times now and would take it over most other companies "good" 12" any day of the week. The thing absolutely thunders!!
