I have a 2003 Kicker Comp VR 18 inch subwoofer. It has dual voice coils and 4 ohm resistance. It's RMS is 1000 watts. I have an Alpine PDX-1.1000 amplifer. I am curious as to whether I would want to use your diagram for a parallel system with a 2 ohm load or a series wiring system with an 8 ohm load.
Thanks,
Josh

I believe the PDX amps are regulated, and make the same power at four or eight ohms. Maybe a mod or someone can confirm?

Fry: And then the battle is not so bad?
Soldier: Oh, right. I forgot about the battle.

I would wire it up in parallel, and present the amp with a 2 ohm resistance.  I also believe that that amp, (presented with either a 4 or 2 ohm load), would output 1000 watts either way.  Wiring it for an 8 ohm load would obvioulsy show more resistance and in turn cut your power, a waste of money in my opinion!  you spent 800.00 bucks for it, so get your money's worth.  Wire it for 2 ohms!
