Ok, here's the scenerio...I know my car pulls a ton of juice and right now it doesn't have much to spare- ( stock alternator, big 3,0-gauge ). Anyway, I just added a second amp and don't have any extra batteries yet. So here's my question. I know it's pretty getto, but can I just hook up a jumper pack ( as a second battery ) to my sub amp's power leads for extra juice during my 30 second runs? I understand my crappy alternator wouldn't charge it,but it's either that or unplugging the amp to my mids during contests, and that kinda sucks...Input?

I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work... It IS pretty ghetto... No, it's SERIOUSLY ghetto...
Why don't you get a pair of high-current quick disconnects, the kind you put in power leads of forklifts, put a pair of those in the power leads for you highs amp, and call it done? WAY less ghetto...
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Yeah, that is pretty ghetto! Could it harm the jumper pack, though, from being drained (if it does become drained in 30secs)? And also, what would the minimum current rating the pack should have to remain, uh, worth it?

Thanks for the advice guys, but screw it. I was planning on heading down to the speed of sound show in pittsburgh this weekend, but people suck so the hell with it ( long story ). Anyway, I'll just wait a lil' while till  I can buy the extra batteries.
